EAGA recognises that the existing lack of clarity around roles and responsibilities is one of the most significant barriers to adaptation and therefore supports the overall intention of the MOU. Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) Green Paper (Feb 2014)

EAGA has a number of concerns regarding the structure of the ERF as proposed in the Federal Government’s Green Paper – particularly its ability to support businesses, communities and LGAs to capture emission reduction opportunities and the lack of safeguards to ensure the 2020 reduction target is met.
